Oh my god. I wanted this so badly — but even after submitting such heartfelt essays, there was still a storm of insecurity inside me. I dove deep into research: What exactly is the Asia Kakehashi Project? Who is behind AFS India? I read everything, prepared for every possible interview question.

"No, my stomach is full. I don't want to have lunch"
"That's because you are nervous, I know" my mother said smiling gently.
I brushed my teeth again after eating — that’s how nervous I was.
I joined the Google Meet early, but the interview started 15 minutes late. Once I entered, I smiled as wide as I could and introduced myself. They were impressed by my achievements in national-level Taekwondo. One of the panelists even complimented my smile and I thought, brushing was totally worth it.
They asked about my family, my weaknesses, and situational questions about living in Japan. I think I answered well… but I forgot to mention that I’m a leader. In moments like that, it's hard to remember everything you are.
Later, I shared my experience with Kuze and the seniors I had connected with.
 In early April, AFS reached out regarding some missing mission information I had overlooked in my main application. Around the same time, I began considering applying for a passport — selected or not, it seemed like a right step.
I also had an online home visit on April 7 with the Mumbai Chapter. The AFS representative was warm and encouraging — she appreciated my achievements and acknowledged my parents' efforts. She even saved my number.

NOTES TO MYSELF: A book review

25 May 2022  Wednesday  Dear Diary, Today, I felt relaxed and comfortable by completing reading a book called "Notes To Myself" by Hugh Prather. It is a collection of wise thoughts written by Prather about society, his emotions, about himself in the form of notes. The author tells his struggles to be a good husband, a good dad, a citizen, and a person himself.   At first, when I started reading this book, I felt no more relating to the lines he wrote but when I understood the deep meaning hidden inside these quotes. I felt emotional. Notes written in the book are the personal opinions of the author which feel connected to the author. Every note is unique by itself, For example, The note on the next page would be based on a different issue with a new meaning rather than connecting to the past issue. Fara(Phara/Farra) is a perfect desi style momos tempered with spices and served with chutneys.It is also sometimes referred to as muthiya.
